Our ZCFD software was really put to the test at the third American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) NASA CFD High Lift Prediction Workshop. We were delighted to take this opportunity to demonstrate how our tech can meet the most demanding aerospace requirements.

CFD engineer from CFMS, Andrei Cimpoeru, presented case studies using our ZCFD solver, which is designed to make simulation at scale faster and more affordable.

This High Lift  Prediction Workshop is used by aerospace companies and research organisations to test the latest in CFD tools against demanding test cases, which explore wind tunnel data for comparison. It allows delegates to compare best practice in modelling approaches with leading global organisations.

The workshop took place in Denver, Colorado in June, sponsored by the AIAA Applied Aerodynamics Technical Committee and associated with the AIAA Aviation and Aeronautics Forum and Exposition.

Our work on ZCFD was supported in the UK under the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) and Innovate UK project “Hyperflux++”, which we are leading on with CFMS, Bombardier, and the Aircraft Research Association. This project will develop aerodynamic modelling of undercarriage and nacelles looking to improve performance and cost-efficiency.
