Zenotech is excited to be sharing updates on our cost-effective noise reduction tech for industry at the AIAA SciTech Forum this month (23 – 27 January 2023). Mark Allan, our CAA and CFD specialist, will be presenting a paper titled, “Aero-Acoustic Noise Predictions Using Stochastic Noise Generation and Non-Boundary Conformal Refined Cartesian Meshes” in the Computational Aeroacoustics and Jet Noise sessions.
Zenotech has developed a process to lower the barrier to entry for noise simulations. Through this process, we can enable our customers to take a CFD solution, use the surface mesh to automatically generate an acoustic mesh, augment the CFD with a stochastic noise generator, and calculate fluid-generated broadband noise.
The required level of mesh refinement around boundaries is given for several test cases and is shown not to pollute the solution with errors due to boundary resolution.
RANS simulations are ubiquitous within industry and this simple process allows users to convert RANS simulations into broadband noise simulations, thus offering more businesses the opportunity to benefit from this technology.
The session marks a return to the AIAA SciTech conference for the Zenotech team. Last year, in collaboration with the University of Bristol, we presented how our product, zCFD, can improve the efficiency of renewable energy through the design and simulation of large-scale offshore wind turbines.
